Where Has The Time Gone?
What happened to the summer? The shows are over, the horses slipping their coats and the nights are drawing in at an alarming rate. Please be aware our next Dressage League for September will be held alongside the Inter Club Challenge at Rhos Farm , Guilsfield…please express your interest asap…all points will add to your tally for the league.
What’s Coming Up This Month
17th Inter Club Dressage (incorporating DRC Dressage League) Rhos Farm, Guilsfield See attached schedule an entry form. Contact Maggie ASAP please.
16th, 17th, 18th Hacking Out in the Rainbow Trails. A three day riding experience in the Dyfnant Forest riding the Rainbow Trails and surrounding bridleways. There is an opportunity to stay over in the Forest or you can just pick and choose which day or days you take part in. We are very lucky to be able to use the RT club house and corrals for this. There is no charge for the riding part but I would ask for donations please, (to be divided between the Cross Wales Ride and the Rainbow Trails). There will be a small charge for evening meals and breakfast for anyone wanting to stay over. If you are interested in taking part in any or all of this please get in touch ASAP as places are going quickly. Contact Honor for more information on this. The members whose names I have will received email details of the agenda once I’ve got the newsletter out the way!
20th-25th Cross Wales Ride The slightly revised itinerary is looking fab: Day 1 Glyngwyn – Aberbran (29K), Day 2 Aberbran – Erwood (35K), Day 3 Erwood – New Radnor (32K) , Day 4 New Radnor – Lloyney (26K) and finally Day 5 Lloyney – Maggie’s Place (Curney Farm) 16K.
We have a mixture of B&B and camping organised, corals planned at each venue and a trip to the local pub most evenings. All we need now is some fine – not too hot weather.
25th ‘Welcome Home’ simple three course buffet style lunch at the Curney (by kind permission of Mr and Mrs Davis) to celebrate the finish of the ride. Contact Honor so a ticket can be reserved for you and I can get some idea of numbers for catering! Tickets will be £10 (X Wales Riders and children donations please) with profits going to the Ride fund. Remember this is in aid of the Welsh Air Ambulance and the DRC (85% and 15% respectively) so please do your best to support this.
